Run out of your medication?
If you’re unable to get a prescription in time, you may be able to receive an urgent supply of your regular medication. This service is available if your medicines have run out, been lost, or been damaged, and you have been prescribed them before.
In certain emergency situations, a pharmacist can supply specific prescription-only medicines (POMs) without a prescription when there is an immediate clinical need and it’s impractical to obtain a prescription quickly.
Our Emergency Supply Service is available during our normal opening hours, including Saturdays, and can also be used by temporary residents.
To access this NHS-funded service, you must request an emergency supply through NHS 111 (online or by phone). The pharmacist can also provide the medication privately, but this would require paying the full cost, as only 111 referrals are NHS-funded.
Please note: This service is for genuine emergencies only and does not replace the usual process for ordering repeat medication. Repeated emergency requests are not permitted.
